The 2026 fall sports season is moving right along, with another full week of action complete across the Tuscarawas County area.
As teams continue to work their way through the early portion of their schedules, several student-athletes turned in standout performances on the field, court and course over the past week.
Now it’s time to recognize some of those efforts.

Here are this week’s boys nominees:
Mason Shull, Dover soccer:He recorded two goals in the Crimson Tornadoes 3-0 victory of River View.
Liam Dawson, New Philadelphia soccer:It was a rain
Liam Dawson, New Philadelphia soccer:It was a rain shortened match, but Dawson found the back of the net twice in a 3-1 victory over Tuscarawas Valley.
Miles Beitzel, New Philadelphia soccer:The junior goalkeeper recorded 15 saves in the Quakers 2-0 loss against Ashland.
Luke Salapack, Tuscarawas Valley soccer:The senior found the back of the night three times in the Trojans 9-1 victory over Carrollton.
Matthew Frey, Garaway football:He recorded five touchdowns
Matthew Frey, Garaway football:He recorded five touchdowns and over 195 rushing yards in the Pirates come-from- behind win.
Ryan Becker, Strasburg football:He hauled in six catches for 145 yards and four touchdowns for the Tigers.
Ryker Williams, Indian Valley football:The senior captain filled the box score, throwing for 122 yards, two passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, one blocked punt and a sack.
Tanner Tucker, Strasburg football: The senior defensive back
Tanner Tucker, Strasburg football: The senior defensive back forced four turnovers while returning one interception 70-yards for a touchdown.
Lukas Justice, Newcomerstown football: He was a part of a record setting night as the Trojans set a new school record with 557 rushing yards in a single game. Justice totaled 256 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
